What I am running is AMD64 Debian etch/sid.  It just showed up in the repository just a few days ago.  Just an "apt-get install nvu" and I have been happy ever since (and it didn't take all afternoon to emerge either!  oh, wow! that might beflame bait!).

Sad to say but this could include us as well.  Remember that we are so
closely tied to the US in a lot of things that we almost don't have a
choice but to stick with proprietary-ware.  Like it or not the US is our
biggest trading partner and we have to maintain compatibility with them.

That being said, we have a huge opportunity here.  As a nation we are so
much more over-skilled, over-qualified and more technologically advanced
than the Americans.  If we could harness that and move that raft of
qualifications and drive into open source we could become significant
leaders (even more than we are now) in the new economy.  Our problem is
that we have to much bureaucracy in Ottawa and not enough marketing
clout to be able to make huge inroads.

Look at any big industry and government in Canada and we are essentially
the same...unfortunately.

Kudos to Nvu & Linspire for sponsoring it.  I am using it to design my
wedding website and have the protable version installed on my USB stick
and have it installed on my machine at work.  I love Nvu....and
FrontPage just sucks!
