Hi all -- new to the list, been watching it for a few days. :)
I have one of these set up - ipkg is set up really nicely with OpenSLUG. It was running as a remote Asterisk machine while I was setting up a test Asterisk PBX implementation for the main office.
I blew that out, and it's currently my rsync machine that also handles my remote ssh work (openSSH), an iTunes server, and my main download machine. VERY nice little box! Only real problem is when downloading the OpenSuse DVD iso, I realized that there's a 2GB filesize limitation that I haven't looked into overcoming yet.
In all likelihood, I'm fairly certain that compiling wget 1.10 (as opposed to wget1.9 that comes from the ipkg tree) will solve that problem.
For any of you that do pick one up, don't forget to void your warranty by de-underclocking it! [ http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/OverClockTheSlug]

I have just purchased 2 of these units:

I found the web interface to be little clunky and awkward. A quick
little nmap -O on the box confirmed my suspicion that these things run
linux, and in my subsequent searching for how to hack the box to
perhaps improve it, I came across this gem of a site:

To make a long story short, you can not only customize the existing
firmware, you can also load an entirely different firmware that allows
you install one of a couple full distros (I have one of the boxes
running an embedded version of Debian).
Instead of being merely an appliance, these things are a fully
functional computer that can be adapted to just about any purpose.
I am not going to get much sleep this weekend, I need to rebuild my
jinzora box, on something that fits in to my pocket
Have fun and play safe :)
