i may not even be in calgary during next month's meeting so i won't volunteer, but i would note that a rather cool patch went into both the 3.5.3 and 4.0 branches of KDE a couple weeks back that reorders the start up sequence on login that dramatically improves real and especially perceived start times ... look for it =) -- Aaron J.
