Here's kinda my take on that: If they saw that shirt on a little 20yr old guy thats as thin as a rail wearing glasses and a pocket protector, they would likely just ignore him, and waive it off as a nerd thing. But, when they see you, they see, a big (may I say macho?) man. You don't necessarily look like the average geek. You look more like, say, a roofer! So, they say, "Whoa, thats a normal person and hes doing something geeky! It must be really easy this Linux thingy!"
