I've read the other posts, but don't see mention of the blindingly obvious thing, that caught me at first... :) When your box has resumed are you left with a black screen? If so, this is what threw me at first. But it the monitor was just turned off due to the power settings. Once I hit a key, it lights up. But at first I thought that the resume feature had failed.... I'm guessing this isn't the case though for you, as you've mentioned it only has problems "sometimes"... But it's a thought...
