And via my whitelist I had made provisions for the response via the
means that I initiated the request. I am not psychic, I cannot guess
which email address someone is going to send email from. Come on, now.

It's not unnecessary to me. Those are the conditions under which I have
decided I will accept your email. It's my time versus your time and
since I'm not in control of your time, I can only look after my backyard.

If you decide that my conditions are not acceptable then so be it. Much
like you have decided that clicking a link is too much work for you
invest, I may well decide that clicking the authorize button for your
email is too much work. Those are our choices to make.

See? Whitelists are a valid method of controlling spam.

Quite honestly, Aaron's reply had nothing to do with helping me. We were
just chatting. But you're right, I want it my way. That's what this
whole thing is all about right, choice?

> um ... not really ... challenge / response white lists only work after they

Incorrect. An integral part of the challenge/response mechanism is the
whitelist. 99% of the people who send me email never get a challenge
even if it's the first time they've emailed me. Challenge/response
doesn't work without a whitelist.

You're mistaking me with someone who doesn't proactively manage their
whitelist.

I think we need to put this into perspective. I didn't kick anyone's cat
here, I just didn't foresee Aaron's email coming in to me via his
personal email address.

Sheesh....
