In my case, i needed to dl the module, it does not ship with distro src.
http://spca50x.sourceforge.net/spca50x.php 
is where i found the driver, for the intel easy pc webcam.
or rather more accuratly on
http://mxhaard.free.fr/download.html
from the author's website.
get the tarball, make and make install
modprobe spca50x
and it worked.
Well, the quality is ok, at 3-5 fps
