The just of the talk was about how we accept goods and services wrapped in technology where a generation or two ago we would not. They conveyed a true story about a resource development company in a third world nation decided to provide a better water resource for the people, then legislating with the government that you must purchase the water from them ended up in a civil war. The main story was about the speakers first iPod and how the battery component died and required replacement. The unit need to be sent back to the factory for service. When the story was changed to an artificial heart, the audience was outraged that it needed to be sent back for repairs. The two stories are very similar but the reaction was quite different. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
