About 1/3 of the way through, I stopped reading and filed this under
S.E.P. (Somebody Else's Problem). The effort that the writer went
through just documenting this would have been better served by
installing a free OS.

People love to complain about MS, but they tend to do little about it.
Instead of a lawsuit I would rather people just switch to a different
OS, though not necessarily a Linux distro. Usable OSs are hard to find
these days, so it is a short list of alternatives.

Personally I don't care about Windows, or even OS X. I do care about
DRM, which is a more important issue IMO.

Pardon the rant, I just had a bad day dealing with a couple of Windows
users on top of my own legitimate, purchased copy of Windows. I can't
believe I payed for this pile of s%^&*!
