I hear it too, and I'm 58. MInd you, when I was in my 20's I surprised my
father (a medical doctor) by complaining about the painful sqeal I was
hearing from a signal he was injecting into a stereo system for a test - at
24,000 Hz. Later confirmed by other tests....
