Wow...you're a smart cookie. I do run VMWare and the behaviour that you're describing fits my experiences. I've just recently installed Kubuntu a couple of times and resume works out of the box and then...sooner or later...it starts to fail. I'll be those failures coincide with when I finally get around to reinstalling VMWare (typically a couple of days after I reinstall the system).
I'll definitely play around with this to see what there is to see. I'd love to get my suspend back. I'll report what happens. Thanks, Gustin - much appreciated.
