I'm not sure what mailer client the sender uses, but I have received mail from them before without an problem. In the end, all I did was forwarded the email to myself via the webmail client and I can read the complete email in kmail now. As this has only happened with one email message, I can live with this solution for now. Thanks for all the suggestions.
