I don't have the links right in front of me, but check back in the archives 
(IIRC) for an e-mail dealing with broken CUPS functionality in Dapper.  The 
links were for KDE, but the issue was Ubuntu in general and not specific to 
KDE.

Those links will tell you the steps to follow to get normal CUPS functioning 
again on your box, then you should be able to follow the same procedure you 
are use to.
