Unfortunately it looks like the 2GB version that I picked up is not
supported by the UMS firmware anyway... so I guess I just wasted the money.

Screwing with something personal like music is the reason MS is so
maligned.  I may not agree with the EU but I do hope they cost MS
billions (unlikely, but we can dare to dream).  It looks like Media
Player 11 beta is installed on this machine, and I can't seem to
uninstall it, I would like to  have been there when someone actually
thought that this would be a good thing.

Maybe it is time for the Nano + rockbox.  I am tired of this crap.
