You might try the BitTorrent, often they work alot better then HTTP downloads.

Hi All,

I'm looking for a "good" download site for FC 5 CDs (yes, my laptop doesn't
seem to want to boot from DVDs for some reason). I downloaded them all from
the U of C mirror last night, but they appear to be corrupt. The checksum
doesn't pan out on any of the files. I re-downloaded a couple and
checksummed them again and the checksums were the same from the first time,
but still don't match the official FC 5 checksums. Further, this isn't a
documentation error because the disks really do crap out on install and
they all fail the FC 5 media check.

I then downloaded a few ISOs from the Telus mirror and they were toast as
well. Those checksums matched the ones from the ISOs I downloaded from U of
C which means they also failed to match the proper checksums. This also
means that it's not a download or burn problem.

So, in my very rudimentary investigation, it seems to me that the main FC 5
site has corrupted ISOs which are being mirrored all over the place.
However, I didn't have time before work to try an ISO from every FC mirror
so perhaps it's more limited than that.

I need FC tonight. Anyone have a handle on where I can find some good ISOs?

Thanks!

Jon
