Interesting. I know organizations that user meetup to set up their meetings, but I didn't know about the Linux one. While there are many Linux meetups in the list (http://linux.meetup.com/), it *does* seem in bad taste to not even contact an existing local LUG and try to join forces. Unless of course they have - it's not like I'm in the loop around here.
