-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 The NSLU2 can be extended to do RAID, but the big problem with them is that they have pretty modest throughput. With a single drive I seem to top out between 20-30 mbit/sec
It does do smb/cifs as well as NFS. Once you mention RAID though, the price quickly scales beyond inexpensive. These guys do RAID 5/10/1 as well as smb/cifs/nfs/ftp, but at nearly $700 without drives, I would not qualify them as inexpensive. http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=8778&SID= http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.php?PageTag=&page=file&memx_menu=EmbedProductDetail.php&DisplayProductID=8764&SID= > > Johnny Stork wrote: >> Does anyone know of any NAS drives which can run ssh, ftp and cron? >> I am trying to setup an inexpensive file sharing device (as opposed >> to a server) for a client who has minimal support capabilites so I >> am reluctant to suggest a full blown Linux server.
