Hello All, My canon bj200e printer is not working. when I turn on the printer, instead of cleaning the jet head, the rods turn but do nothing and an orange trouble light goes on.
So I got an HP laserjet 1018 printer. I discovered that HP does not include usb cords with their equipment. I managed to bookmark a site that I found by googling to HP laserjet linux, so it seems to be workable. Has anybody installed an hp laserjet 1018 onto one of Zenwalk, Xubuntu, or Suse or any debian based distro? Since my google search came back with a positive result I am considering continuing. But if there are other laser jet printers that officially support linux drivers other than HP I would be willing to take it back and get something more suitable. I want to know whether to return the printer and get another brand or get this printer working under Zen walk, Xubuntu, or Suse. I am now without a printer.
