This is a little out of my realm, but your subject says Reiserfs. Are you 
booting into a Reiser partition? And if so, have you compiled Reiser support 
into your kernel? Loading a boot fs as a module will fail, but if you're 
messing around with your .config file then I'm sure you know that.
