Hi All.

Bogi's Firefox problem has prompted me to finally look into my own
similar issue with Thunderbird.

I had two versions of Firefox installed - one was via apt-get (on
Fiesty), and the other was where I d/l'd the app and installed manually
to a local directory. Things worked fine, though I would get different
start up behaviour depending on which version was being called for my
actions. So I removed the maunally installed method (actually just
renamed the folder, but the effect is the same).

Now I'm seeing some odd behaviors. The main one is that in Thunderbird,
the hyperlinks in my email messages no longer work. Clicking on them
does nothing. Related to this is if I open the Run dialog (alt-f2) and
type in "firefox", I get an error "KDEInit could not launch
'/home/sgrover/bin/firefox/firefox'." - which makes perfect sense.
(that's the one I removed/renamed). But if I go to the command prompt
and type in "firefox", it launches fine.

My initial searches for this issue points towards a problem with the
default browser setup. So I've gone through the process to force FF to
check if it's the default, and tried to reset the default via kcontrol.
  No luck.

Any tips/suggestions? I do have /home/sgrover/bin in my $PATH, but not
sure how it got there (if I set it, or if it was automagic). Don't know
if that matters any.

Shawn
