For a while now, microcontrollers have been starting to look like a full desktop system, but this takes the cake! It runs real Linux (not uCLinux,) can use DDR ram chips, and has gobs of I/O. All it is missing is a VGA port (maybe a PCI video card could do it...)
Although the MCU is $20 in qty. it is still pretty expensive for a development board ($850, which is really not that bad for a development board, compared to other high performance microcontrollers.) http://www.linuxdevices.com/news/NS4469294424.html - Total device power of less than 1W (running Linux OS with example applications, such as WebServer and MP3 decode and playback) - Approximately 380 mW core power at 410 DMIPS - Lowest stop mode approximately 6 mW -Mark C. _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
