With a municipal election next month, I thought this may be a good time to quiz potential elected officials (Municipal Governments and School Boards) on free/open source software and the spending of taxpayers money on proprietary software when there are equivalents in the f/oss world.
Does anyone know what formats are used by our government for storing information? Are they an open or closed standard/format? Looking for information to use when approaching potential candidates.
