Just What Is Embedded Linux, Anyway? by Mark Carlson Currently a developer for Turner Tech Inc. in Calgary; for the past 2 years Mark Carlson has been writing software for embedded Linux devices. He will cover the basics about what exactly makes "embedded Linux" different from your average Ubuntu distribution.
The goal is to answer the following questions: - What is the hardware like? - How does Linux get on there? - What kind of software is run? - How do I use it? - What does real-time mean, anyhow? Our monthly meeting will take place on its regularly scheduled date (first Wed. of the month), November 7th, 2007. Doors open at 18:45, and we should wrap up around 21:45. Due to ongoing construction at Devry <http://www.clug.ca/node/538>, the room number is subject to change; but don't worry, its a small building! Hope to see you there!
