Happy New Year !

Here is a quick translation:

Asus is working on a Desktop-Version for EeePC
Mini-Notebook with a ten inch display is also planned.

The electronics manufacturer Asus is working on a Desktop-Version of the
EeePC. This was reported by a Taiwanese News portal DigiTimes referring
to Jonathan Tseng, Asus marketing manager. Tseng explained that the
computer won't have a display included.Tseng did not give technical
details or details to prices. Asus just recently introduced the
Mini-Notebook EeePC for the German and Austrian market.

The EeePC will be available to the German and Austrian market starting
December in a 4G-version with four Gigabyte Ram and 7 inch display says
Holger Schmidt, from Asus.
Asus also will introduce a 2 Gigabyte variant and a 8G model for Asia.
The 2G version won't be available in Europe. The 8G version is not ready
at this time, which will have 8 GB Ram and a bigger display with a 10
inch display. The casing will be the same as the 4G model. Schmidt did
not want comment about a desktop-variant.

Asus has huge expectations regarding this new generation of notebook
computers. These devices will be offering a fast and simple access to
the Internet, office-applications, e-mail, VOIP and other web based
communication services. Based on the size and weight of the EeePC, it
is a product that can be carried easily and anywhere.
Asus is selling 300.000 of these devices by the end of the year. The
sales target for 2008 is defined with 1.000.000 units.

Thanks,

Dirk
