Sounds like you're having the same hassles as me, my wife's laptop is experiencing similar issues - it just decides to lock up for no apparent reason, once this situation occurs the interval between lockups seams to become more frequent. I think that is it a heating issue, but not with processor, maybe with the southbridge. I have done memtests, processors burn ins, drive trashing, LiveCD running... but still no clear indicator on what causes the lock ups. I also tried removing the battery (less heating/load on PSU) but again no indicator of the root cause. Thank heavens for Ebay, replacement is in the post.
