Hi all,
I mentioned OpenStreetMap.com before, and it's hugely additive. I've been
working on the areas around the Crowsnest Pass, but wonder whether anyone
within CLUG would be interested in doing some 'mapping parties' around the
smaller communities in the Calgary area.

The basic idea would be to drive out to somewhere (say Bragg Creek) with a
group, set up a 'base' and assign areas to different people who could map
in cars, on bike or on foot. Could throw a few bikes on the car and drive
out with 4 in a car.

The data could then be uploaded on the day to OSM, and processed later
into roads tagged the appropriate names, etc. Good food and beer
afterwards of course.

Ideally for me this would be best as an evening event (roll on summer
evenings), as my weekends are a little busy. Anyone interested?

Simon.
