-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I needed to create some quick firewall rules today (using my laptop as a NAT router for a few hours). The problem was that I had been working on ~ my usual script, which was then not working.
Anyway, I discovered that I had firestarter installed. It can quickly get you up and running with some decent firewall rules. I was able to set up a NAT, default outbound deny, traffic shaping (not customizable via the GUI), DHCP, and some port forwards, with just a few clicks. It has a status tab that shows the throughput on each interface as well as the currently active connections. All in all a pretty solid app. It is a gui app btw.
