On the top right: Settings -> Labels -> Create new label Labels aren't folders, but they can act like one. With labels you can have more than one per email if you so desire (pictures AND family, for example.) There aren't folders in the traditional sense though. But labeling and archiving is pretty much the same thing.
I use them to categorize my incoming mail so my inbox isn't so cluttered, just like I would with folders. This is under settings -> Filters Some example filters of mine: (angle brackets are filled in with appropriate text, deleted here) Matches: from:(Cron Daemon) Do this: Skip Inbox, Apply label "Cron" Matches: to:([email protected]) Do this: Skip Inbox, Apply label "clug-talk" Matches: to:(<my work email address>) Do this: Apply label ".Turner" Matches: to:([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Do this: Skip Inbox, Apply label "freebsd" Matches: from:([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Do this: Skip Inbox, Apply label "Personal" Matches: from:(<anybody I don't like>) Do this: Skip Inbox, Delete it On Tue, Jul 22, 2008 at 2:52 PM, John Jardine <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi, > > Does anyone know how to add folders to gmail?
