Hi again, gang.
Following suggestions made by the group, I have installed Ubuntu as a
Windows' program with Wubi. (I feel like such a slut!) I have another
question about this, however. As set up, I can easily print using my
Canon printers which are not supposed to be supported very well in
Linux. Before I dive into a dual boot, I'd like to know if I'm printing
okay because I'm operating thru Windows or is it because my Ubuntu set
up recognizes and sets up drivers for my printers.
I have asked this question on the beginners' section of the Ubuntu
forums and I have also checked "The Official Ubuntu Book," "Ubuntu for
Non-Geeks", as well as three other books at the library. I can find no
information there at all. In the Ubuntu Wiki also, I find nothing.
(Admittedly I am a pretty ignorant searcher)
I could just leave Ubuntu as an MS Win "program" where everything is
working well, but I'm assuming that when Windows crashes, it will take
Ubuntu down with it if I leave it that that way.
Do any of you know how the printers work with Ubuntu set up this way?
TIA for sure... again!
pat
