It should be noted that the reason I build my own kernels is mainly for the wireless driver update. I put an Intel iwl4965 (802.11 a/g/n) in my Aspire one to replace the 802.11b/g device that it came with. I am a big fan of 802.11a So the answer your question, Ubuntu 8.10 should work out of the box. Ubuntu 9.04 should be even better. > > If you have time, the 64Studio people have a release for netbooks that > they are looking to test. IMO, I would stay away from a distro that does not sign its packages. To import the PGP keys, do the following: sudo gpg --keyserver wwwkeys.eu.pgp.net --recv-keys 07DC563D1F41B907 sudo gpg --armor --export 07DC563D1F41B907 | apt-key add - Then rerun apt-get update Hth, -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFJptB3wRXgH3rKGfMRAmGhAKCQ6xWE1S7z0nSVdiqp77YiOaji8wCgjc1c w9yarc6ANGL2m4QBId/zm/U= =7bHi -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
