Open the mixer, make sure that PCM and/or FRONT are adjusted
appropriately - usually about 80% works well. I find that when my
volume doesn't add enough, it's because PCM is turned down.
Some apps that allow sound adjustments will adjust PCM directly, while
others will adjust the front speaker.

For some reason the volume went really soft on my computer and I have no
idea why. I tried adjusting it with the applet and with all the music
players but I can not turn up the volume. The speakers seem to work, it
is just when I try to use one of my head phones that it does not work
Any ideas on what happened?
It was fine yesterday when I was using this computer.
How can I fix this.
