I just downloaded the "easy peasey" Linux distro for my eeepc and possibly an older hp 533 MHz laptop. It looks real nice on the live cd version. Any questions, comments or snyde remarks!!! I read the reviews on this distro and all looks fine. Any pointers or suggestions on how to load in to the computer to not wreck the solid state memory?? Ie no swap, ext 2 instead of ext 3 and any other pointers. Most likely I will do this over the weekend. Thanx Guys & Gals. These are multimedia production Linux distributions. I will be demonstrating 64Studio on Saturday along with some of the gear (mmm, toys) that I have. I am also working on Voyage Linux, a distro that is aimed at embedded and SBC machines. It is based on Debian and is designed to run off of Compact Flash cards. I use it for building my own routers and firewalls. http://64studio.com http://linux.voyage.hk/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAknnhsIACgkQwRXgH3rKGfPKegCcDE5CFn4X4930KzngfqdMva25 ycsAoLFyhxWrpn87sJzIADGAlTubV6hM =iGew -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------ Message: 3 Date: Thu, 16 Apr 2009 13:53:10 -0600 From: Shawn <[email protected]> Subject: [clug-talk] I want one! Also the train is reasonably close (at least as close as last year when it was at SAIT.) Get off at Marlborough Station, head towards Canadian Tire, but keep following 36th street until you get to the hotel (it's only two intersections away, about 0.8km, and will take 10 minutes if you walk slowly.) Here's an enormous url for the Google maps walking direction from the CTrain station: http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=36+St+NE&daddr=51.062638,-11 3.982854+to:coast+plaza+hotel&hl=en&geocode=FXkZCwMdDMY0-Q%3B%3BFZEtCwMdQrY0 -SENBozeAghkOA&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=16&via=1&dirflg=w&sll=51.060966,-113 .982596&sspn=0.008779,0.015879&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=16 -Mark C. ------------------------------ _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca End of clug-talk Digest, Vol 54, Issue 23 ***************************************** _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
