Hello everyone. I really like programming in PerlQt. It is so fast and easy. In fact all my smaller GUI projects now are done in PerlQt and I only use Qt C++ for the larger projects. I want to get more people interested in PerlQt and because it is so easy I think this is a good way to get people interested in programming. I am looking for some class room space to setup an event where I give people a crash course in programming with PerlQt. I am also thinking of setting up a Wiki to create a tutorial on how to code with PerlQt. I don't want to host it my self, I would like to find a Wiki hosting site that lets people setup pages for free. Can anyone recommend a site?
This was posted to the Radados.org site this week. PerlQt is a very easy to use programming tool that is powerful enough for advanced developers and now it super easy for beginners as well. Radados developers have created a PerlQt project manager that makes it very easy to learn the starting steps of computer programming by reducing the complex steps of project creation to a few simple buttons. This tool does not teach anyone how to program in Perl or C++ with Qt but it does enable users to explore their possibilities with out feeling intimidated by the complexities that PerlQt is handling for them automatically in the background. Radados users can install it using synaptic search for the package name * radados-perlqt*. PerlQt can be made available for other Linux system and for Windows(cygwin) but the Radados install is the easiest way to get up and going in a mater of seconds. Radados users will have a new PerlQt icon on their ViceWM desktop or can start the project manager by running PerlQt.pl. If you do not have Radados but want to use the PerlQt project manager you will need to install perlqt and it may go by different names such as libqt-perl or lib-perlqt. You should install the statically linked version of perlqt to avoid dependency issues. http://perlqt.sourceforge.net/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/perlqt http://radados.org/Projects/radados-perlqt.tbz<http://radados.orgprojects/radados-perlqt.tbz> You will also need to install the Qt3 designer and the Qt3 documentation. If you create a package for another version of Linux please send me a copy. -- http://www.Radados.org
