You have to change the partition label. For vfat/fat32/fat16 etc. you
need the mtools package. Do a google search for changing fat32 label
under linux. There are a number of steps. Not hard but a little tedious.
Of course, on windows you should be able to rename the label in the disk
management mmc snap in, found in "Computer Management". I guess this is
kind of tedious too.
Personally, I format my flash drives with ext2 unless they *need*
("need" is a strong word and I did not choose it casually) to be used on
a Windows box.
