Gustin, You're missing the point: Most people do not know or care about the impact of "...crapware, adware, spyware, virii, and badly written software..." they only want to know they can finish the spead sheet thier boss is creaming about on time and go home. Windows works like crap, it's slow and otherwise should not be feed to starving pigs...but it works (badly; but it works) and it is intuitive. Linux works in all but one aspect: It is not immediately as in intuitive as Windows and it is not as well supported by hardware vendors as Windows. That will be its undoing.
