Juan, I don't think I'm alone on this one, but I've reviewed this whole thread in disbelief. This seems like a conversation that may have taken place 10 years ago but I'm dumbfounded that it could take place today.
Your issue with Linux on the desktop is rooted in the following statement you made in your original post. " ... but I am one of the few that refuses to run any other distro than Slackware ... " --> "I am one of the few" in this context, is an elitist statement --> "that refuses to run" is a spotlight on a flaw in judgment that probably brought you to click send in the first place --> "any other distro than Slackware" wow ... a one tool fellow when there are so many (distros) at your disposal You might as well have posted that you despised canned tuna because, while you can open it with a screwdriver, it's messy and not pretty. It's a SCREWDRIVER Juan, use a frickin' can opener when you have one in your midst. Yea I know you've got a Phillips, Robertson and a crosspoint bit in there but it doesn't change the fact that it's still a screwdriver. Seriously, if you take anything away from this perhaps some personal reflection will have made it worth it. Many of your responses where Twilight Zoney and immature, especially in the face of contradictory evidence to your original position. If a Linux desktop is good enough for my four year old, I can't understand why it's not working for you ... oh yea, it's because: " ... but I am one of the few that refuses to run any other distro than Slackware ... " Try a can opener. You'll be amazed at how well it works opening cans. Ciao, Greg
