I want to use a program as a firewall for Iptables. Is it OK to run a program as a GUI as root to do this, or would there be problems with this?
I was using Guarddog to do this as a normal user and it gave me this message: Since you do not have superuser privileges, Guarddog is running with reduced functionality. Firewall scripts may be Imported/Exported, but the system's firewall settings may not be changed.Since you do not have superuser privileges, Guarddog is running with reduced functionality.
