This is probably wrong; but here it goes:
Last time I played with Kubuntu; when you first reboot (after the
installation) I think you are asked if you want to install non-free
drivers for devices installed in your system (I was using a Nvidia
GeForce 9800). Again, if I remember correctly, this install the native
Nvidia drivers as well as all the configuring utilities. After the
install is completed (I think) it will ask you to reboot. Once rebooted,
the resolution on the screen is amended automatically so an acceptable
default. From there you can use the utilities to fine-tune. It will
automatically update the xorg.conf file.
I am not 100% sure; but I think that's how it went. Hope that helps.

I got this from running: sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
There doesn't seem to be much information showing: drivers, video card,
etc. Can I get another xorg.conf file that would show more?
I want to install a nvidia driver:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV6 [Vanta/Vanta LT]

and I will need to edit the xorg.conf file. I would also like to see
about how it is configured.
