k. the next obvious question. What bot? There seems to be a lot of em... I'm looking at Supybot right now, but don't know how current it is, or even if it is what I want. I can easily set up a bot on one of my servers though...

As an aside, freenode assigns me op status when I connect to the channel....

It's been awhile since i've used irc, but i think you will want to
setup a bot to manage the channel operators and ensure that it doesn't
disappear when you leave. The bot will give you op status when you
login, maintain the title, etc.

Anyone really good with IRC?

I'm trying to set up a channel for COSSFEST on freenode.net. I have
some partial success, but am afraid that it will disappear when/if I log
off. In addition, I'm not sure if I'm getting the topic or entrymsg set
properly - I'm not seeing these when I leave then join the channel.

So, in short, I'm looking for some help in getting this set up right.
If you think you can help, please contact me off list. (unless you
think the topic is pertinent to the mailing list.. :) )

btw, the channel is #cossfest if anyone is interested.
