I use Synaptic. I find it easiest of all of them to understand. Use 'apt-get install Synaptic' at the console and then go to the menu under System and find Synaptic. Good luck. I only use apt when I need to do "unusual stuff" like installing Synaptic. -- An old mainframer getting current.
