Greetings all,

Due to a failing HDD, I recently upgraded to KDE4 (Mandriva
2009.1)...I really like the improvements, but there are a few things
that don't seem to work right or are missing (or I can't figure out
how to configure it now):

1) In order to use my S-video TV out port, I have to switch the
display from wide screen to 3:4, at which point KDE switches off my
desktop effects, and resizes the panel height...when I switch back to
1280x800, the desktop effects and panel settings do not return to my
preferred configuration and so I have to go back and turn on desktop
effects (by turning off the effects and then turning them on again),
and resizing the panel height.

Some of these issues may be a result of the intel video driver bug
that is supposed to be fixed in Mandriva 2010.0...

2) Speaking of panel height, is there any way to make the default icon
size for panel icons less than 32 pixels? I guess that's why it
resizes, because I have my panel forced to thinner than 32 pixels and
the panel icons are scaled down accordingly. In KDE3.5 the panel icons
could be set to 16 pixels...

3) In KDE3.5 one could have different desktop images for the different
multiple desktops...that seems to be gone.

4) Every once in a while KDE plays a logout notification sound, which
is strange because I've turned off all audio notifications... again a
bigger task than it once was, because the "turn off all notifications"
check box is gone.
