How could you forget SparkFun (http://www.sparkfun.com) on the list of
mail order sites?

Hi Dafydd,
I 2nd HVW/Solarbotics. I just got some gear from there today:)
You may also want to check out mail-order places like Digikey, Mouser or
Jameco depending on what you're looking for. I get bulk connectors,
LEDs and stuff from them.
Cheers,
J.J.

A great business that supports the hobbiest community is
HVWTech/Solarbotics. You can get their address from their website
hvwtech.com. They are good for prototyping stuff like breadboards and
microcontrollers.
Another firm that has reasonable stock good prices and will order most
things is MRO Electronics. However, they are only open weekdays.
A third option is Active Components. They are more expensive on most
things, but are open saturdays.

I've got a few projects that I'd like to hack up, and not
faring too well looking through Google. Does anyone know a
good store in Calgary for picking up breadboards and IC's?
Thanks,
