I'm not specifically wedded to that board, it just has a feature that is
valuable to me in the daughter board expansion. With the daughter board
expansion stuff they offer I can drop 50 bucks and get 3 GB intel ethernet
ports and still maintain a very slim form factor (if you know of a slim pci
or pci-express card that will  add at least 2 good intel  ethernet ports
please let me know).

With that board I could install something like ebox platform on a usb key
and throw it in a really tiny case and have a super powerful router
solution.  I will take a closer look at the ALIX boards though.
