You may want to check out the stick (corruption?) with a simple test first.
When I drop by to see you Monday or Tuesday about that other non-computer item I could bring my net book running an upgraded Debian testing. I know it seems to auto-mount these type of devices well, so we could test before you format.

I can use GParted to check it's partion
To format, even with gnu/Linux may be better with fat32 so it is cross platform readable.

Hello all,

I put some pictures on a Sandisk Cruzer 4 GB memory stick and then by mistake unplugged it without doing a umount and corrupted it.

The salesman who sold me the USB stick said that it could be formatted again using Linux to get it ready for mounting properly.

If that is true, how would I reformat the device since I can not seem to mount it?

All help is appreciated in advance.

Regards,

Michael
