Some of these are very different but most are more than merely useful.  I
have not messed around in this space for quite some time.  Any time that I
need a small footprint I just tend to reach for Voyage Linux (
http://linux.voyage.hk/) and then use a 9 pin serial connection (no GUI, in
fact no video at all).
