We now support some raw evdev devices (keyboards and mice) with
libxkbcommon to do the mapping keycode -> keysym.

On the CE4100, you can either use EGL/X + GLES 2.0 or EGL/GDL (the
cex100 flavour in clutter's configure script) + GLES 2.0 + evdev events.
You have some features like selecting which keyboard layout you want to
use that are not exposed though, that would need some additional clutter
API.

The cex100 flavour does not have multistage support but:
 1/ you can select which GDL plane you want to use per process basis, so
you could still have 2 processes, each one rendering into its plane
 2/ Add multistage support to the backend to setup stages on separate
plane
