Hello list,
is it worth to use the Mx Toolkit for a ten foot user interface? I
only need really simple stuff like remote-controllable button-bars.
Is the Mx Toolkit designed to function this (mouseless) way or
should I use a custom button implementation together with a Box
and a BoxLayout? I just made my first steps with Mx so I want to
check back I can use it the way I want or if I should implement my
own.
Cheers,
Carsten
OK, I found the Focusable interface in Mx. Forget about my
question... But is there a good tutorial in using Mx? Starting with
only the reference manual is really hard...
There aren't any tutorials that I know of, your best bet would be to
look at example code such as that in tests directory of Mx or in
applications built with Mx such as media explorer
http://media-explorer.org (also aimed at ~10ft)
You can also find us in #clutter on irc.gimp.net for assistance

Thanks, I'll look at it...
BTW: Is the Clutter-development affected by the Meego/LiMo merger
(Tizen)? It sounds like there will be no Meego base and the UI is based
upon Enlightenment. What's the future of Clutter?
Interesting news for sure. :/
Clutter is an open source project which is used by Dawati (the netbook
UX for meego/tizen), GNOME and Media Explorer to name a few, it has many
contributors from the community as well as Intel.
