Hi, buddies:
We confirmed that the graphics adapter card is most influencing for the
performance of clutter.

The glxgears FPS info here for two kind of graphics adapter:
For NVIDIA GeForce GT440 is 60FPS, so load image texture will be very slow
For AMD Radeon HD 6600 is 1700FPS

Thanks for reading this. does anyone could tell us is this a problem of clutter
or VirtualBox? Any tips would be thankful.

Subject: issue of loading img by cogl_texture_new_from_file

Hi,

My app need to load lots of images, I use cogl_texture_new_from_file to
implement this.
This func will cost more than 4s to load one image if already loaded many
images before。
Then it will return to normal for loading others.
It seems like the memory buffer is not enough for loading so many images,
system need to allocate another buffer to load all the images.

But when one of my colleague run this app, the issue doesn’t happen.
Our environment is almost the same except Windows OS and PC hardware.

My PC environment:
Virtual Box 4.1.4
Ubuntu 11.10
Clutter 1.8.0 / Cogl 1.8.0
Windows XP
Intel E8400 3.00G/GeForce GT 440

My Colleague PC environment:
Virtual Box 4.1.4
Ubuntu 11.10
Clutter 1.8.0 / Cogl 1.8.0
Windows 7
Intel i5-2500 3.30G/Radeon HD 6600

Best regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen
