I've started a project to create ocaml bindings for clutter. I have
no idea how much interest there might be for ocaml bindings (other
than myself), but I should double-check that nobody has undertaken
such a project.
Currently, I'm just hosting it as a mercurial depot on freehg.org.
Once I get it to a usable state, I would be willing to port it into
the main clutter SVN depot *if* that is the desire of the project
maintainers. It can also happily sit as a side project in perpetuity.
I'm developing on Mac and targeting the stable 0.6 release as a
starting point. Actually, I don't really have a choice because I
haven't successfully completed the "configure" stage of building 0.7
(some X11 extension problems I think), so I'm using the Macports
version of clutter-0.6 and clutter-cairo-0.6. At some point, I would
prefer to switch to targeting 0.7 in hopes of completing the bindings
in time for the 0.8 release.
Anyhoo, I don't anticipate any major questions or issues, but who
knows. I might want to get in touch with your Macports jedi if I
can't debug my build problems; but there's no rush for that and my
answers may lie in the mailing list archives etc.
If anybody would like to follow progress or get a copy, please let me
know. However, its not in a usable state as of yet. I'm starting by
just slowly porting some simple demo applications etc. before taking
on the bulk of the API. This is just a side project that is of
interest to me, so no promises about completeness, correctness, or
long-term maintenance.... yet.
