Summary: Notes on FindPythonLibs(PYTHON_ADD_MODULE)
Description:
A follow-up to http://public.kitware.com/Bug/view.php?id=10068.

Throughout the module file, the variable ${PYTHON_MODULE_PREFIX} is used
multiple times, but it is never set?! Funnily, the contents "empty" is actually
correct.

On MacOS, the required extension is .so, the default extension is .dylib:
      IF(WIN32 AND NOT CYGWIN)
        SET_TARGET_PROPERTIES(${_NAME} PROPERTIES SUFFIX ".pyd")
+ ELSE IF(APPLE)
+ SET_TARGET_PROPERTIES(${_NAME} PROPERTIES SUFFIX ".so")
      ENDIF(WIN32 AND NOT CYGWIN)

Another function, say, PYTHON_INSTALL_MODULE that installs to
${CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX}/lib/python${PYTHON_VERSION_MAJOR}.${PYTHON_VERSION_MINOR}/site-packages
(or wherever the preferred location nowadays is), would be nice.
